Where we work

A software house for all 17 northern provinces — and Bangkok

WHALE TASK is a Chiang Mai–Lamphun software team serving all 17 provinces of northern Thailand and Bangkok, with on-site service and fast maintenance. Each province has its own page written from the area's real economy — not a template with the name swapped — with honest distances and visit rounds. Everywhere else in the country we work fully remote.

Upper North

Our base and the provinces reachable by car in a day — on site as often as the work needs

Lower North

Remote-first, with visit rounds routed through Phitsanulok — and, said plainly, several of these provinces are nearer Bangkok than Chiang Mai; our advantage is experience with the same kinds of business and regional pricing

Bangkok

WHALE TASK has staff based in Bangkok, so on-site response is fast — ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting at your site, installation and training in person, including taking over the upkeep of systems another team built.

How we work with clients outside Chiang Mai

Remote by default

Design, development, testing, training, and support run over video calls and a system you see working every two weeks. Most clients see us more often than a team waiting on flights.

Visit rounds in the plan from the quote

Site surveys, hardware installation, and the first week after go-live are scheduled rounds, not 'to be arranged' — and travel is itemised in the quotation.

Systems designed for distance

Remotely fixable first, hardware with locally available spares, and POS that keeps selling when the internet drops — the rules we apply to every province that isn't Chiang Mai.

Questions about where we work

Does WHALE TASK take projects outside the North?

Yes. WHALE TASK has staff based in Bangkok who can be on site quickly for maintenance and support, and we work with clients nationwide fully remotely and has international clients in Japan, Singapore, and Australia. The northern province pages exist because we can genuinely visit and know each area's economy; everywhere else we work the way we do for lower-North clients — remote-first, with visit rounds when needed.

Why does each province have its own page?

Because businesses in each province face genuinely different problems — Laplae durian packing houses in Uttaradit, sugarcane quotas in Kamphaeng Phet, Mae Sot border traders, short-season resorts on Khao Kho — and WHALE TASK writes each page from the area's real economy with an in-depth article for that province, not a template with the province name swapped.

How often can the team reach our province?

It depends on distance, and each province page says so plainly. Most of the upper North is a day's drive from our Chiang Mai–Lamphun base; for the lower North we route rounds through Phitsanulok, about five hours away. Work that genuinely needs presence is rarer than expected once a system is designed to be fixed remotely from the start.
