For Australian businesses

A Chiang Mai software team for Australian businesses

Many Australian businesses want an offshore team they can actually talk to, whose hours genuinely overlap, with no account manager in between. WHALE TASK works in English, shows you the real running system every two weeks, and hands over full code ownership.

Why us

Why Australian businesses choose a team in Thailand

Overlap through the Australian morning

AEST runs about three hours ahead of Thailand, so Sydney's morning is the middle of our working day. Meetings and answers happen daily with nobody waking at odd hours.

Working directly in English

Meetings, documentation, and manuals all in English — talking to the people writing the code, not to an account manager relaying messages.

The real thing every two weeks

A working demo you drive yourself, not a progress slide deck — which cuts the risk of hiring across borders into small pieces.

A cost structure meaningfully different from Australian rates

With the same testing and handover standards we apply to every client.

Time zones

Working across the time difference

Sydney and Melbourne run about three hours ahead of Thailand (four during daylight saving), so the Australian morning through early afternoon sits inside our full working day — meetings and same-day answers, always.

Engagement

Engagement models

Monthly dedicated team

A standing team working to your priorities, redirected every two-week cycle.

Fixed-scope project

Defined scope, a price range narrowing through discovery, delivered in phases.

Taking over an existing system

We inherit from a previous team, complete the documentation, then maintain and extend.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions from Australian businesses

How does WHALE TASK work with Australian clients?

WHALE TASK is a software development team in Chiang Mai, Thailand, working with Australian businesses directly in English — both as fixed-scope projects and as monthly dedicated teams. Clients talk to the people writing the code rather than through an intermediary, and the first consultation is free.

Can the Thailand–Australia time difference work?

Yes, comfortably. Australian eastern time runs about three hours ahead of Thailand, four during daylight saving, so Sydney or Melbourne's morning through early afternoon falls inside our full working day. Weekly meetings and urgent questions always receive same-day answers.

How can we be confident an offshore project will not drift?

We reduce that risk with delivery rhythm: every two weeks you see and personally use the real running system built so far, rather than a progress slide deck. Misunderstandings surface within ten working days instead of at the project's end, and you can redirect at any point.

Who owns the code, and can we move teams if we want to?

The client owns all the code. WHALE TASK delivers source code with full rights, documentation another team can pick up and work from, and domain, hosting, and database accounts in the client's name from day one. We design handover on the assumption that clients must always be able to change teams.

How do cross-border contracts and payments work?

We contract in English, specifying scope, phased delivery, and payment milestones tied to each phase. We accept Thai baht or foreign currency via international transfer and issue the accounting documents your business requires.

Where is our business data stored?

By default we design so data lives in the client's own cloud accounts, with the server region selectable — an Australian region, for instance, if your policy requires it. Development team access is granted per person and revoked immediately when the work ends.

Do we need to fly to Thailand to start?

No. Most projects with overseas clients run entirely online, from discovery through delivery. Clients who want to visit the team in Chiang Mai are always welcome, and travel to meet you can be arranged as the project requires, with costs agreed in advance.

How do we get started?

Start with a free one-hour consultation where we listen to the problem, ask about your real process, and say plainly what to begin with, what to cut from phase one, and what budget it deserves. We then propose scope and a price range for your consideration.

Want a development team you can actually talk to, showing real work every two weeks?

Free consultation, no commitment. You talk to the people doing the work, not to sales.
